Purpose: To show examples of how dates are presented in Croatian church documents. This page focuses on reading numbers; for examples of months, see here. These examples are taken from various Stanja Dus"a of the Konavle region.

1 November, 1839 | Abbrev. for November this time is 9br; Dot between 1 and 9 shows that it's not 19. | |
14 July, 1839 | Month is Lug., not Aug. | |
28 December, 1839 | xbr = December. | |
29 September, 1839 | 7bre is abbreviation for September. | |
30 July, 1840 | Month is Lug, not Aug. | |
7 March, 1841 | . | |
25 March, 1842 | First digit of year is left off. | |
6 November[?], 1842 | Not sure of the month here; it looks like 9br or maybe 7br. | |

31 March, 184[3?] | li = on; 1st digit of year is left off; Looks like it might be 1813 but context (other dates around it) has it in the 1840s; could possibly be 1848. |
