Problem 4. This is from a Stanje Dus"a page obviously written after 1925. The left column is the death column so I assume he died 11 June 1925. The rest of it is in the "comments" column. Something about America and Virginia and Nevada. Help! Please answer here. Thanks. Ray H.

Comments:
"U Americi" means "in America." The word after Americi is "umro" which means "died." It doesn't say Virginia City but I'll bet anything he died in Virginia City, Nevada, because lots of Croatians were miners there. The funny stuff after Nevada I think is some court ("Sud" means court-- right before "28") in either Nevada or Croatia saying on 28 July 1926 that he had died back on 11 June 1925. 223/26 is probably the 223rd document of 1926 in the court's records. What looks like Ne above 223/26 I think is No. for "number" referring to "Number 223/26" but I'm not sure why it would say No. which is in English. Maybe the document was from Nevada and they were just copying No. because that was part of the reference number given.

Question: So where would this document 223/26 be today? Ray. H.

Answer: I have no idea but probably not with the church. I think the church was just citing a reference number of some court. It's probably in some court records somewhere. Maybe the 2 words before "Sud" is the name of the court. Can anyone read those words? Looks like "Javlo R?.".
